Grad and Parent Information
Right now, in the time of COVID 19, there are a lot of questions about how grade 12s celebrate their final year in high school and about scholarships and bursaries. Firstly, scholarships and bursaries will still be awarded on the basis of the same criteria as always. Scholarship committee meetings have already begun to take place. What we are still unsure of is how awards will be presented and whether there can be a typical valedictory ceremony. All we know at this point is that there are a lot of people working on some sort of solution, whether virtual or otherwise, to help our grade 12s transition from high school students to young adults facing a very different world. But even though things may be different, we must still carry on. And we can remember that even though we seem presented with many obstacles, new opportunities will also emerge. During more typical years, grade 12s would attend meetings, listen to announcements, watch the monitors, and read newsletters to make sure they kept apprised of important dates including final exams, post secondary presentations, deadlines for applications to post secondary schools, and valedictory information. . So keep checking the School District and Duchess Park websites, listen to the news, and remember grade 12s will be notified as opnions are sought and decisions are made. Don't hesitate to get in touch with your counsellor or Duchess Administrators if you have any questions. Take care! |
